Yet Another Reason to Love Fox News...

Recommended Posts

Ugh, I had to sit through so many lectures in grad school about how great the Laffer Curve (where things got so much "better" due to Reagan's tax cuts for the wealthy and the resulting Trickle-Down Economics) was. What's interesting about that is that it was never our regular professor praising it. Rather, it was always some local rich guy brought in as a "successful guest lecturer". Like the real academics knew it was all BS and couldn't bring themselves to spew that claptrap.

Former Fox News reporter says he left because of 'partisan misinformation'

"Nearly every problem that we have in the USA -- unaffordable health care, prison overpopulation, hyper militarization, climate change, racism, gun violence, poverty, poor education, urban sprawl and others -- cannot be positively addressed because bribery and conflicts of interest are legal under campaign finance laws which protect the uber-wealthy and the narrow self-interests who grossly benefit from our afflictions."

Quote

According to a Yahoo News investigation, the infamous Seth Rich conspiracy theory was planted in the U.S. by Russian intelligence agents. And after the debunked story made its way to Fox News, network executives were never able to identify the source of their now-retracted story.

The U.S. prosecutor who was in charge of the Rich investigation told Yahoo News that Russia’s foreign intelligence service (SVR) first pushed the false claim that Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich was murdered by Hillary Clinton’s goons in retribution for leaking DNC documents to WikiLeaks in a fake intel bulletin sent out in July 2016.

The bunk story, Yahoo reported, was eventually pushed by then-chief White House adviser Steve Bannon, who, less than a year later, texted a 60 Minutes producer that it was a “Huge story… [Rich] was a Bernie guy… it was a contract kill, obviously.”

And two months later, the lie made its way to Fox News—both in on-air segments on Sean Hannity’s show and in a now-retracted digital article by Malia Zimmerman. According to Yahoo’s sources, Fox News executives investigated how that story came to be, but were never able to identify the anonymous “federal investigator” at the center of the entire claim.

And this is why Fox News is Faux News -- they could not verify the source of the story but ran with it anyway.  Repeatedly.  Journalism 101 -- verify your sources, preferably multiple sources -- and that's a solid "F," Mr. Hannity.

Tucker Carlson is primetime white nationalism.  Fox is giving him that platform.

Way back when Tucker Carlson was on CNN, I thought the reason I didn't like him was because he insisted on wearing a bowtie.  Then he moved to Fox News, stopped wearing the bowtie, and I realized it wasn't the bowtie that made him unlikeable.

Quote

During the first break in Wednesday’s House testimony of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Fox News anchor Chris Wallace claimed the hearing had thus far been a “disaster” for both House Democrats and Mueller himself.

With Republicans already making the case that the former FBI director appeared doddering and confused, Fox News’ special coverage team of Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum immediately noted at the break that the special counsel struggled to answer questions, saying the hearing had been “halting.”

“I think you both have been very kind,” Wallace responded. “This has been a disaster for the Democrats, and I think it’s been a disaster for the reputation of Robert Mueller.”

Remember how we were told the "objective" reporters like Baier and Wallace were good, actually?

Wallace also described the Blasey Ford hearings as a "disaster for the Republicans."

^I’m not really following the presidential stupidity much anymore. Is this where el presidumbo got the idea to buy greenland? I understand he has “conversations” with these idiots before he heads to the west wing. It sounds like 80-90% of what he tweets comes from watching Fox.  The stupid is on full blast with that network.

In all fairness, you can't swing a cat without hitting a Nazi in conservative circles, apparently.

Laura "definitely read the article" Ingraham.

For all the talk about outrage culture on the left, it seems to me that all of the outrage exists on the right.   A big part of the conservative grift machine is to take headlines or specific incidents and scare or outrage people.

^Pretty much. There are no “big thinkers” in the trump party. Unless they are thinking about ways to get one over on others. They don’t read in depth, just the headlines.  They think they are brilliant.  Yet they are slavish bootlickers

I’m not surprised that there isn’t outrage on faux news that a spy had to be brought to the US because of trump’s incompetence and more likely treason and fealty to putin.

I’m sure faux would rather spend their airtime keeping their viewers in their fairy tale that no one should think critically of trump being the most corrupt president ever.

There was a bit of an incident between Fox News' Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham this week during their 10PM hand off between the two shows.  But you can tell they're still friends, because they keep smiling as they say awful stuff to each other:
