Any update with this restaurant? (Good Night John Boy)

A little more about the Yong Kang Street restaurant going into the South Campus Gateway and an answer to the above question from https://www.dispatch.com/business/20190502/game-arena-cazuelas-grill-and-yong-kang-street-will-open-at-gateway-university-district

Quote

Yong Kang Street will open its first Ohio location this fall at 1576 N. High St., next to the recently opened Coffee Connections. ... In summer 2018, Gateway had announced that a restaurant, Good Night John Boy, would occupy the spot that will now be taken up with Yong Kang.

“Circumstances prevented the owner of Good Night John Boy from moving forward with the space,” a spokesperson said in an email.

Way Down Yonder Reopening on the South Side

Way Down Yonder has made (another) comeback. After a location in Olde Towne East, a fire at owner and chef Yonder Miller’s home, a hotel stay, and an interim location in Linden, the family-owned and operated business is back in action on the South Side.

“The good thing about it is this is our own space. Our own space is something we’ve always dreamed of,” says Miller’s daughter, who’s also named Yonder, but goes by Yanda Millz. “We went through this transition and journey, go through all that to get to us here. Nothing but God that got us to this point.”

First Look: Community Grounds on Parsons Avenue

It’s been a long road for Community Grounds co-owner Joel Cosme, Jr. Even disregarding his childhood of chronic homelessness — during which he roamed with his mother from shelter to shelter in Seattle, Minneapolis, Florida and everywhere in between — it’s been trial after trial as he and his wife Tara Mullins-Cosme have worked to open their coffee shop on Parsons Avenue.

Cosme first announced plans for Community Grounds five years ago, subsequently getting hit with family illness, construction delays and bad contractors. Even in the night before soft opening on Thursday, Cosme and co. were experiencing equipment issues, searching for stores open 24 hours so they could get the parts they needed.

“We likened it to one of those home repair TV shows, where there are always issues behind the walls along the way,” Cosme said in good humor.

More sweet treats are coming to New Albany.

Whit’s Frozen Custard expects to open this summer at 220 Market Street in the Market Square development downtown. It’s the 33rd Whit’s in Ohio and is owned by Wil and Jason Hollands. In addition to serving up that brand’s signature flavors including Waffle Caramel Crunch and Toffee Pretzel Chip, it’ll also offer pie selections from Westerville-based Just Pies.

The Whit’s joins other shops in the project like Fox in the Snow cafe, Freshii and PetPeople. The New Albany Company, developers of Market Square, announced the addition Monday.

Budd Dairy Announce Two More Culinary Partners

Budd Dairy Food Hall, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ upcoming Italian Village venue, announced two new culinary partners on Tuesday. Modern Southern Table, originally launched in Zanesville, and Alphabetical Comfort Kitchen, a local food truck and catering company, will join Darista and Borgata at the food hall when it opens later this year.

Modern Southern Table, owned and operated by Sadaya “Daisy” Lewis, started in the food court of Colony Square Mall in Zanesville. They won the location as part of the Food Network show, “Food Court Wars,” in March of 2014, but Lewis says she’s ready to be more centrally located.

Kilwins chocolate shop opening next week in the Short North

The local franchisees of Kilwins chocolate shop will open their second Central Ohio location early next week at 662 N. High Street.

Stephanie and Ernie Malas opened a Kilwins location in Dublin's Bridge Park in 2017. They were inspired after vacationing with family in Florida and getting ice cream at one of the locations, Ernie Malas said.

"We really loved the old-fashioned ice cream shop feel and decided to bring that feeling back to Ohio," he said. "We went there a couple times on each vacation and we loved it."
