What do you get on your burrito?

Recommended Posts

I'm very specific about what I get on my burrito. I usually get Chicken (or sometimes barbacoa at Chipotle because they give you so much of it). Extra meat, extra cheese, extra sour cream, rice with cilantro and corn instead of salsa. As much as I love supporting local places I haven't really found a burrito on par with Chipotle yet. Habanero and Burrito Joes in Cincinnati don't really cut it. Currito is alright if you want to try something different. Next I want to try the Comet in Northside, I heard their burritos are incredible.

Anyway, discuss.

^That's disgusting! But it might not necesarily have any less cholesterol.

I myself prefer just meat, cheese, rice and black beans on my burrito. But I really fire it up with Chipotle Tabasco sauce!

There is a place in southside Chicago that went to years ago that served the best burritos on the planet! They were HUGE! Bigger than Chipotle's. I can't remember the name of the place though. it was a ma and pa operation.

Ronnie if you can find out the name of the place I would love to know. I love visiting friends in Chicago and that would only enhance my next chicago experience.

What is Currito? One of the larger sculptures at Icefest in Hamilton this year was sponsored by Currito, Burritos without Borders. Everyone was perplexed.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this may be it. I do remember the burritos were so big, you had to practically hold them against you belly and eat them from the top down. LOL

I have had burrito at 4 of the chains -  Chipotle, Moes, Qdoba, and Hot Head.  Hot Head is the worst of the bunch.  I like Moes the best however, I don't like the fact they don't put hot sauce in the burrito when they make it.  It's okay if you eat there but take out means you have take the little cups of sauce with you.  They also are the only place that gives you free chips.  I like Qdoba and Chipotle equally.  Quality is good and they each have good flavored hot sauce.  Hot Head only has Red Hot.

I like chicken, black beans, light rice, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, and hot sauce.  I do add some others depending on where I go.

If you're talking about Moes in Columbus I despise them. The only thing I like about Moes is they're open until 4am as any restaurant should be! The free chips and salsa is a plus though :)

Hab's is better than any of them, why do you say they don't cut it?  What did you order there?  Barbecue Chicken burrito for the win.  The chips rock too.  All the different salsa's.  Dessert salsa.  Stuffed Pablano peppers.  I'm getting hungry.  Comet is good too.

Well when I went to Habanero I got the steak and it had no flavor. I was told its better to go with chicken but I wasn't really impressed with the other elements of my burrito either. I'l try it with Barbeque Chicken. I still need to check out The Comet.

I see I'm in the vast minority here, but I love burritos, but hate Chipotle. It's a sloppy wet mass of diarrhea on a plate. I've tried the burritos, and at my assistant's request, in a bowl. Equally vile. Maybe I'm not ordering the right things.

I'm a traditionalist. Meat (or shredded chicken), beans, rice, a little guacamole, and that's about it. If you're doing it right with the meat and beans, you don't need much else.

I just have a hard time eating guacamole that I haven't made - it really needs to be served fresh, like within 2-3 hours of its creation. Years ago, I dated a guy (native of Mexico) who turned out to be an utter louse but I did manage to get a guac recipe (and a leather jacket) out of the relationship. Needless to say, the guac recipe was by far the best thing I got from that entanglement.

Chipolte is a diarrhea in the bowl alright. you are in no minority. That used to be my only less- chainy- than -TGIFBenigans-when -stuck-in- the burbs-working place to grab a bite. I swear those places put some kind of poisen in the food. eat local.

Glad to see I'm not alone. I work out in Mentor now (temporarily, trust me), and there's a place nearby called Jalapeno Loco, that's not half bad. (despite the goofy name).

The other think I forgot to mention, is that I'm a big jabanero pepper fan too, so if I can get those on a burrito (or anything else), then I'm good.

they are actually commonally called Habanero/Habenero...and they my favorite pepper as well. They tend to show up more in Caribbean foods.

My granny cooks with those all the time.  They are very "mild" compared to these mini peppers (the name escapes me now), she cooks with.  Those babies are so hot, they numb you lips.

I love the burritos at Del Taco out west. Only if they could bring Del Taco to Ohio and get rid of crappy Taco Bell.

But the best burrito hands down (and I need to get there sometime soon) is the shrimp burrito at Margaritas.

Mmmmmm, now I just made myself hungry!

Every time I eat Chipotle... I feel terrible the rest of the day... I think I'm never gonna eat there again

Moe's Southwest Grille's burritos seriously lack flavor... pretty blah

Qdoba... what's the point?

Burrito lovers we need your help. Please contact Chipotle and let them know that their 8 pm closing at the new fountain place location in downtown cincinnati sucks. Everywhere else in the city they close at 10.

Here is a reply I got from them about why they close early..... :x

http://www.chipotle.com/#flash/speak_comment <---comment here

Hello there, and we appreciate you contacting us! I don’t know about all of the other places in the area, but often our restaurants in downtown areas close earlier, because everyone typically leaves the downtown areas after work ends and night falls. But we will consider this for the future, since most definitely we aren’t saying we’d never change this, especially if it seemed to make good, sound fiscal sense to stay open later. We thank you for letting us know your thoughts, and we appreciate your patience with us while we grow to learn the ebbs and flows of proper operating hours for our first downtown Cincinnati location.

Sincerely,

Joe Stupe

Chipotle

A cheeseburger. Hold the burrito.

"Nearly every problem that we have in the USA -- unaffordable health care, prison overpopulation, hyper militarization, climate change, racism, gun violence, poverty, poor education, urban sprawl and others -- cannot be positively addressed because bribery and conflicts of interest are legal under campaign finance laws which protect the uber-wealthy and the narrow self-interests who grossly benefit from our afflictions."

more like Joe Stupid

May I ask...why? They're a new location, they kinda have to be in the business of making money, and the person responding even said they're not against being open later....just not yet.

Give him a break..sheesh.  It's a fuckin' burrito, not brain surgery.
