Cincinnati: Pendleton: Jack Cincinnati Casino

All I can think of is this 90's era quiz game:

I bet there was a whiteboard with varies categories written on it, one of them being "playing card themes," under which words like "Queen" and "Spades"were written and hastily crossed out, until someone just settled on "Jack." They probably thought about going with Diamond's until someone Googled it and found out that name is already taken here in Cincy.

Our friends in Cleveland hate it too. Check out this jewel from the Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase I thread:

Something to do with this. Whatever this is:

Gee, a Queen theme would never work in Cincinnati...

In fairness, a Queen theme would work on two levels for our market only, and they seem set on operating Detroit and Cleveland under the same brand.  It would still ring pretty generic at the other locations.

New signs are going up on the temporary chain link fence around the lawn. The signs are advertising "The Back Yard at Jack" (apparently the new name for the lawn venue),"Prism Steak/Seafood", and "Market District Buffet".

So does that mean Margaritaville and Bobby Flay's are staying?

Shouldn't it be The Front Yard?

It's pretty funny to me that Horseshoe can change its name to Jack and the signs are changed in a few months. Yet, there are still signs leading people to the "Coliseum," a name that changed 19 years ago.

Jack Cincinnati Casino wants to add a huge LED sign downtown

jackcasinosign*750xx1200-676-0-73.jpg

The owner of the recently reopened Jack Cincinnati Casino wants to add a huge LED sign to its existing 80-foot sign along Gilbert Avenue.

Jack Entertainment LLC is requesting a modification of the existing 80-foot ground sign to include a “changeable copy sign” that would be 16 feet high by 28.5 feet long. The new LED sign would be integrated into the existing ground sign.

Casino changes parking policy

jackcasino5*750xx1200-676-0-110.jpg

Finding free parking at downtown Cincinnati’s casino is about to become a little harder.

Jack Cincinnati Casino will begin charging more of its garage users, including many of its membership card holders, to park in its garage on Oct. 17.

Cincinnati's Casino, NKY's Track Changing Hands

Cincinnati's casino and Northern Kentucky's racetrack will be changing hands. Investment company Vici Properties and Hard Rock International will pay $780 million for the properties in Pendleton and Boone County. Hard Rock Cafe will then lease the facilities.

This explains why Jack has been in cost-cutting mode for the past year or two...they were preparing for a sale. My question is whether the Jack brand will stick around, or if it'll become Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati!

They will 100% change the branding. I see this as a good sign with the opportunity for new investment. May be the time when hotel/ large arena may be built? The Hard Rock in Cleveland has been killing the competition. I am sure all cincy area casinos were just put on notice.

Pie in the sky dream is that they purchase one of the nearby massive parking lots by the casino and somehow squeeze in a new arena that could potentially be home to a NBA/NHL team. Hell, I wouldn't even mind an e-sports arena.

Plus you get a lot more middle schoolers with a Hard Rock Cafe.

Interesting to hear about a brief bit of commentary about a Hard Rock Hotel and Hard Rock Cafe as potential future development by hard rock. I imagine they will probably look at those parking lots by the casino at some point.

“Cincinnati is finally getting a HARD ROCK CAFE and city clowncil wants to narrow Liberty Street to make it harder to get there? rofl”

”Should have put it in West Chester”

FC was the last pro team we're getting.

How large are e-sports arenas? That's actually a pretty good idea. And if you build an e sports arena (which I'm assuming is a room with lots of seating and giant televisions I've never been to one) put it next to the casino and have it set up so that it can be a sports book lounge when not being used as an e-sports arena as sports betting will be legal in Ohio in the next 3 years.

I wonder what Casino sign 3.0 will look like? How easy is it to turn this puppy into a guitar?

Could be a headstock.... or two necks, then add headstocks to the necks.

I think the big things that would benefit the casino, will be rebranding. However, Hard Rock has hotels at each casino location, with spas included. There is space for a hotel along the south west side of the building. They typically also have avg. 50k sq. ft. entertainment venues. Some have hard rock cafes, which could easily go in the old Jimmy Buffett location. I just hope they invest in the property and make it similar to the rest of there properties. Would be beneficial to the casino and tax revenue stream.

The Philadelphia Fusion is an "Overwatch League" team. I would have guessed indoor football. We don't have an Overwatch team. The New York Excelsior is a pretty good team name using the State Motto. If we tried that, we'd have the Ohio With God, All Things Are Possibles

Atlantic Division

Boston Uprising

Florida Mayhem

Houston Outlaws

London Spitfire

New York Excelsior

Philadelphia Fusion

Pacific Division

Dallas Fuel

Los Angeles Gladiators

Los Angeles Valiant

San Francisco Shock

Seoul Dynasty

Shanghai Dragons

^From the article: "The Fusion Arena will host Overwatch League matches starting in 2021."

These organizations have no idea when people will just up and quit playing a certain game en masse -- since there is no way to know. Nobody could predict for example that in April 2017 interest in retro gaming would take a tumble overnight. NES and SNES had been hot for at least 10 years before people just stopped out of nowhere. Nobody knew exactly when interest in drawn-out cinematic games would conk out. That also happened in 2017.

Horseshoe/Jack was prohibited from building a hotel for the first couple of years but that provision expired and they would be allowed to build one now. It looks like 10 of the 11 existing Hard Rock casinos have hotels attached to them. So I would take that as a good sign that they want to build one in Cincinnati.

Any idea where they would potentially build one?

I always assumed that they would put it along Court Street where their drop off circle is now located. However, Greyhound nationally is trying to sell off much of their real estate, so maybe there is an opportunity to acquire the Greyhound station next to the casino and replace it with new development that continues to Gilbert and wraps around the corner, surrounding the garage. That would give them enough space to put a hotel, a theater or e-sports arena, shopping, etc.
