To be fair, federal revenues have grown every year since the cuts.

As a randoom comment on global warming, I don't understand why New York State is putting $8 billion into buffing up LaGuardia Airport when even middle of the road predictions for sea level rise project that 1/3 of LaGuardia's runway area will be submerged by 2030.  Does NY, one of the greener state governments, disbelieve the sea rise numbers?

There's nothing wrong with optimism, as long as you don't get your hopes up.

Tax revenues are down dramatically when compared to prior to the tax cuts. We have a huge deficit now an mo real tools left when the next recession starts.

If the Army Corps of Engineers is running out of chances to build levees, walls, pumps etc to keep coastal cities dry. Without these, the only alternative is to move inland. Come to Great Lakes cities like Cleveland!

Cities that declared a state of emergency in February due to outbreaks of COVID-19 saw air pollution decrease by up to 40 per cent as businesses close their doors and residents stayed home, a University of Toronto researcher has found.

In the US, emissions of carbon dioxide are forecast to drop 7.5 per cent this year, according to a recent government estimate. In the EU, daily emissions have fallen 58 per cent compared to pre-crisis levels, according to the French consultancy Sia Partners.

Global levels of nitrogen dioxide, a pollutant linked to cars, have hit a record low, according to the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air. Less coal burning in China in February alone has already avoided the equivalent of the annual emissions of a small European country. And the air quality in major cities from New Delhi to Beijing and Los Angeles is cleaner than at any time in recent memory.
