Why are people in Cincinnati so #$%^ing rude?

Recommended Posts

On that score, people should be committing suicide in the streets of Cleveland by the end of February!

Then my dream would come true.

Bravo, ColDayMan, bravo!

Yeah, all generalizations are bad.

Hey, I got the joke. Good show.

My 2-cents is this:

1) Don't eat at chain fast food joints.

2) If you must, and you do get shitty service, do a little research and find out who owns the franchise, and complain to him/her/them.

Complaining to the manager is a complete waste of time; somebody at the restaurant is setting the tone that makes it acceptable to be rude to the customers, and it's probably the manager. Good managers are hard to find, and from what I can deduce from my years living there, inner-city businesses have a hard time recruiting and retaining good managers.

But behind every chain store in the 'hood is an investor or several who saw an opportunity to make money. Let the owner know the joint is going down due to bad management, and things'll change.

Or they won't.

Screw you all... every last damn one of you!

Preparing for SF eh?

I have noticed that people do not stop for peds in crosswalks in Cincy.  They damn near run you over.  Also, when jogging or walking, many people don't say hello or even acknowledge you. They keep their head down or look away.  Rude.

how about the folks who just slowly walk across the street and never look out for cars?  I've seen this a lot in the ghettos of Memphis and a little bit in Cleveland.

^As long as they're in the crosswalk, it's entirely there prerogative.

Vive le peds!

nope. they are nowhere near the crosswalk.  and, my kid could crawl across the street faster than some of these pedestrians.

I didn't have time. I had to be at a class. But when people were blasting a stereo and selling cds inside the KFC in Northside I called the number on the receipt and let them know. I also told them I didn't like waiting 20 minutes for my food. The problem with fast food places is they make too much money. A KFC/Taco Bell like that could easily generate 400k a year just in profit.

that place is amazing

I recently found an ATM card left in a machine in a Kroger with a 5/3  branch.

I turned the card in to the 5/3 clerk and, right as I did, a guy came up & snatched it off the counter, said, "That's mine !" and shot the clerk & myself dirty looks like we were conspiring to steal his checking account.

Cincinnatians can be real charming.

Yeah, I guess I've always been a big fan of brackets as oppose to perenthesis.

You've really got a handle on the whole capitalism thing, don't you?  Who decides how much money is too much, or how much a given business should be able to make?  I think I'll tell my managers at P&G that our profits are too high!

I'm pretty sure McDonalds is as big as it is because of investment, not because of their customer service ethics. Shouldn't you be listening to Bill Cunningham with your friends and bitching about how your suburbs are being "infultrated"?

Dude I don't get it. That shit should not be tolerated AT ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLlllllllldgsadgasgagagaasdladfaladfa. If you're rude, you're fired. Period. If I was manager there, I'd be saying that more times than Donald Trump.

As a restaurant manager (Panera Bread) I would tend to agree with you...however at many of these places you take what you can get :-/  Service is pinnacle in my book, but then again you don't normally have the same calliber of workers at McDonalds as you do at a Panera (emphasis on NORMALLY)

Well, you get what you can demand out of them for what you're paying them, which often isn't much.  I'm not going after you personally, just an observation on the whole damn situation with jobs these days.  Everyone wants the world at starvation wages.

Yeah, Panera can be more selective (especially the one on campus) it seems. McDonalds probably hires crack heads and felons like its nothing because they have a hard time retaining employees. Hey, are you still transfering to the one on Calhoun? I can't wait to try it out; I thought they were open the other day but it was a private party--invitation only. That burrito place a few storefronts down was giving out free burritos, but the line was seriously like 40 people deep outside the door. I thought I was at the BMV.

So I'm in a parking lot today, and a guy was showing his wife his new Bengals license plate. I looked over at it, and he looked at me kind of awkward. I kept walking and said "Nice plate, they're starting off pretty good this year." His response, "What, are you some kind of an a**hole Steelers fan?" You can't even be nice to Cincinnatians.
