I feel like the only thing left to be developed is the Centennial. Unless it's new construction? 🙂

There was some talk about putting a cap over the innerbelt several year ago, but I haven't heard anything about that recently.

The Centennial is getting close, I think. Finishing up capital stack. I thought KJP was referring to new construction though.

Nope. You got it. 🙂

^ We all sometimes complain about slow progress and lack of cranes but the sheer amount of renovation of vacant/ underused buildings has been yuuuuge.  Lower Euclid was rather deserted a little over a decade ago.  I remember prior to the streetscape/BRT rebuild on Euclid and looked dire.

I remember being downtown for a very warm and windy New Years Eve 2007. Euclid Avenue was dark and empty, and the dust being whipped up from the Euclid Corridor construction work made it look like something out of an Old West ghost town, albeit with bigger buildings.

No. There's a project that we've known about that's going to start work in a month or less. I thought the project was in trouble in late-2019. But with the money that's pouring into this city, it's going to move forward.

If there is another project then that is GREAT news.  When will this be announced

so everybody knows.

If you think that's the cherry on top, Swagelock is moving HQ to Cleveland very soon.

Swagelok just started construction on their new headquarters in Solon a couple months ago. Maybe you're confusing them with a different company?

I have a family member that is a city employee who says they're packing up shop and leaving for Cleveland. I may be blanking out, are they really in progress with the build?

Yes it is under construction and will be a huge addition to their current very large facility in Solon.

Is that just an easy pun or a working name for the project?

A cute/lazy title of my own creation.

I could see that pit getting new construction to go along with the Landmark redevelopment. Whoever purchases it will want to max out the space.

There's just so many cool ideas/projects brewing out there. I hope at least half of them come to pass. If they do, this is truly going to be the Roaring 20s for Cleveland.

Not unidentified. Others correctly guessed it is The Centennial and I acknowledged it. When will we hear? Tick, tick, tick...

The Lumen 2 is proposed a block north of Euclid and the Geis project is a block south of Euclid. Those are the only two I know of that are "Euclid vicinity." There was a rumor that the Union Club was going to develop something on the lot next to its building but I haven't heard it from more than one source and I don't trust that source.

Centennial is the high ranking fortune 500 right?

Centennial is the conversion of 925 Euclid to a mixed use building. Nothing about a fortune 500.

I think tastybunns is referring to a reference you made to something "bigger than Progressive" coming to downtown or something similar.  Was that the Centennial?

It's not the Centennial, and it's not coming to downtown.

And I don’t think @KJP ever actually said it was a company. He simply stated it was bigger than Progressive. Might it also be a large development, series of companies, or other type of entity that requires a lot of space?

All that said, I’m still guessing Siemens North America until told otherwise 🤷🏻‍♂️

They've put up banners of upcoming major events on the Lorain Carnegie bridge and it got me thinking about cranes and downtown progress being shown on national TV. Browsing around the forum, here's a quick take by year and event (I'm assuming some of my development dates are off, but y'all get the idea):

  • 2021 - NFL Draft - S-W could have some cranes up, possibly City Club Apartments crane, doubtful, but NuCLEus?, East Bank Should be Built Out-ish
  • 2022 - NBA All Star Game - Geis Tower (?), Lumen Phase II, CityBlock (or whatever it is at this point)
  • 2024 - NCAA Women's Final Four - who knows what @KJP has up his sleeve...Thunderbird?

I guess all in all, if even half of the things percolating on here come to fruition, it's going to be awesome for Cleveland in the national spotlight.

The NCAA has an event this yea, the mens March Madness tournaments is hosting the 1st and 2nd rounds.

I don't expect SHW to have cranes up until mid- to late-2021. City Club could have a crane by then. So might 2-4 others.
