The Dayton Racquet Club is in the middle of another upgrade, marking $250,000 in work as the restaurant and club adapts to a fast-evolving downtown Dayton.

The Racquet Club — a members-only club that sits on the top floors of downtown's tallest office building — has put a quarter of a million dollars into upgrades over the past three years into its bar, restaurant, ballroom and fitness areas as it sees a new kind of demand for its dining, social and private events areas. Scottish pub brings charm, quality to Dayton region

Scotland is certainly not the food mecca of the world, what with haggis and its other interesting dishes. But the country has an irresistible charm and menu options more agreeable to the American palate. Which brings me to The Highland Stag, a Scottish pub that open a few months ago in Springboro. Here’s what I found.

Atmosphere: First off, The Highland Stag may have the coolest name of any restaurant, ever. Aside from the name, the cozy place certainly plays homage to its owner’s heritage with a mural of a Scottish castle on a wall and Scottish music playing from the speakers. The space is quaint with about 18 or so tables, along with a bar, boasting 20 beers and tap and 49 varieties of Scotch whisky. The restaurant also features several TVs, as well as a patio.

That's probably going to be in The Village, which is the open-air component of the mall in an outlot. That's where all the sit-down with alcohol restaurants are. Also, they got the leasing rep's first name wrong unless Jennifer's sister also works there.

Honest to god I was very excited when the Logan's Roadhouse closed because it was a laughably horrible restaurant.

Now it's being replaced with one of the better Chicago pizza chains?

Heck yes!! (kinda feel like a bad urbanist being this excited about a pizza chain moving to suburbia tho)

^Beavercreek is really doing a "good" job of pulling in a whole bunch of atypical regional chains. I'm still amazed that they somehow got the second Primanti's in Ohio, plus Melt and now Giordano's. They just need Swenson's and a Kewpee and there would never be a reason to leave Fairfield Road!

^Right? They could build a mixed-use apt building where the old Don Pablo's is and we'd be set for life lol (jk) (tbh there is a nice bike trail there tho...)
