I’ve heard the retail they are working with now are an AT&T store, small convenience  store, a bank , and a big part of the space will be an special event center

Love the wood facade. I don't remember seeing it in any mock-ups. But so help me God - if Bobby or Tony hijack that space...

it’s the actual facade for parts of the retail. Not brand specific.

The addition of Church+State and The Quarter had dramatically changed Detroit, especially when coming from the east. It's incredible. There is so much potential and opportunity to recreate Detroit all the west.

An AT&T?! That’s major for two reasons. They are in the middle of closing 250 stores AND that is a major shopping tenant to acquire. That could potentially create a domino effect.

It's incredible. A terrific corridor coming together.  And I really wish the city would put in a bike/bus line-jumping lane on Detroit eastbound right before W25th now, before all the risk-averse retail tenants move in.

The AT&T reseller is kind of a bummer but a nice, new convenience store would be great.

The closest convenience store nearby for residents like myself (not counting "The Grocery" which is more of a prepared foods spot) is Linda's and it doesn't really give off the warm and cozy vibe considering someone was shot in the leg outside of Linda's about a month ago. If I need beer or wine I basically need to buy ahead at Dave's or make a run to Ohio City Brew Stop on Fulton.

A bank is also meh considering there's a Chase, Key, Ohio Savings, and PNC all within a half mile.

I still haven't shared this with my wife, but I was walking home from Ohio City Galley in October and saw a man get stabbed in the stomach in what appeared to be a drug deal gone wrong. Linda's Superette is nottttt a net positive for the community. Though I don't think you were suggesting otherwise.

Are you sure it wasn't an argument over which of Linda's craft beer selections is best?

Church + State really makes an impact on the skyline coming from the west on the Lakefront Bikeway! I can’t wait to see this same view once it’s finished.

Great shots @urbanetics_! I’m actually pleasantly surprised just how impactful on the skyline Church & State is. i think it will be incredibly  impactful in terms of the positive energy it infuses in the neighborhood.

Did you get a drone?   Lots of folks are having great fun with them.  I, unfortunately, live within the White House no-fly zone.  ☹️

I've had one for the last few years. I just finally got around to grabbing some shots. 🙂

^ This got me thinking.....seeing this place all lit up at night is going to have a tremendous visual benefit to what has been for so long a very forlorn looking stretch of Detroit.

Church was only 50 percent leased a couple of weeks when I last heard from Graham Veysey. Now....

I don't believe anyone has posted the artwork proposal yet that would wrap around the parking garage floors. Really pulls together the building and is an awesome contemporary method for ornamentation and beautifying a parking garage. The intent is to change out the artwork every 3-5 years.

This is like the third HIngetown mural from an American Greetings alum.

Dinara Mirtalipova is a self taught illustrator/designer. Born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, she eventually landed in snowy Ohio. Dinara studied Computer Science at the Tashkent State University of Economics, however her true passion was always patterns and illustration. Raised in Soviet Uzbek culture, Dinara inhabited Uzbek/Russian folklore that still influences her work.

I noticed the first story wood facade in these pictures is gray or black. Right now it’s just unfinished wood and I kind of like the look as-is.

Does anyone know if they plan to stain the wood like these mockups?

A lot of woods silver over time. It won't be as dark or consistent as what's shown in those renderings, but it will likely lose a lot of its color fairly quickly.

The floorplan names are so cringe, but whatever, I guess I'm not in their target demo haha. The gallery pics are very nice though, very *white*...

All that said, why isn't there a So-crates? Model??

Wow - Ohio City rents are skyrocketing. I guess it’s a good thing to hear that units are leasing up quickly, but it’s definitely out of my price range.😅

Those 2 bedroom rents are Los Angeles prices. I should know because my 2 bedroom in LA is in that price range. It’s nuts.
