New Knowlton School of Architecture Building Opens at OSU

Recommended Posts

I go that building, work in that building, and eat (and sleep) in that building everyday. I'm in that building right now.

I like it (though I don't love it). It's definately "radical" in design.

I've been past it a couple times coming home from work. It's interesting; it could have been a lot worse, and I kind of like it. The old building was neat in its own way too though, I was sad that it got demolished.

Brown Hall is essentially going to be rehabbed and not torn down. Just gutted (which is all good with me).

and what about Lord Hall' date=' I thought I heard something awhile back about it going to be torn down?[/quote']

I've never been in Lord Hall, so I have no real opinion about it (unlike Derby, Brown, and Thompson where I spent the majority of my time at and aquired strong opinions about).

I just know its old and its not perpendicular with the rest of the buildings along there.

I like the inside, the ramp system, raw concrete and metal, but hate the zebra marble. Why did they have to put it so close to Ohio Stadium? Compared with Miami's architecture building, Alumni Hall, Miami wins hands down, compared with Kent States architecture building, OSU wins hands down. But at least OSU feactures a varitey of building styles where Miami is all brick and stone.

What a wonderful building!  Thank god it has almost no windows.  Who wants to look out on that nasty world we live on?  Or get light from the sun?  Not me!  Not when we have the ghastly white glow of flickering florescent bulbs to make everything look beautiful.
