His move, unusual in a city dominated by legacy architecture firms with long histories, coincides with Westlake Reed Leskosky's merger with Minneapolis-based DLR Group, announced last month. KJP Posted December 11, 2020 Share Posted December 11, 2020 Yes, it was built in 1910 and had the longest concrete arch span in the USA if not the world. It was demolished (mostly) after the new bridge opened in 1980. I did an ilustrated article in Sun News about bridges over the Rocky River roughly 20 years ago. It also carried two tracks of the Lake Shore Electric railway which operated on its own right of way west of here at 80 mph to Lorain with less frequent service to Sandusky and Toledo, and through freight service to Detroit. East of this bridge, it operated over the Cleveland Railway Co. streetcar tracks on Sloan, West Clifton, Clifton, Lake, Detroit and Superior into downtown Cleveland. 1 “What is the meaning of this city?
