TBH, at street level, it doesn’t look any different right now.

More than likely will be one of the last things to get completed since that's where they are bringing in and out all of the material and debris to build the renovations.

If you look a bit closer it looks like they're getting the first floor(s) ready for ground level retail when I looked at it the other day. At least they were framing the bottom 1.5 floors for what looked to be (and their renderings confirm) to be a decent street presence. I'll try and snap some pics at lunch today.

When is this project supposed to be done? I want my sidewalk back.

Just think of Euclid as a really fun adventure with all the sidewalk and lane closures impeding BRT. I always thought Euclid would be the perfect street to close off to general traffic and dedicate to to buses, cyclists and pedestrians.

I would not like to see Euclid closed down to all traffic under any circumstances, however in a way it already has been, at least to car traffic since so many people avoid Euclid because of the inefficiencies of the traffic light timing, delivery trucks that have to stop in the car lane to make deliveries forcing other traffic into the bus only lane and other, non-BRT buses in the car lane and making stops further backing up traffic.

I'd like to see RTA and CPD step up enforcement and the signal prioritization optimized, so we can see how this road should really function.

I'm glad the Bus line is popular, but I wish that subway line under Euclid proposed decades ago would have been built instead of this.

Signal prioritization? I thought the City and RTA couldn't agree on things (surprise, surprise) so, though the prioritization is paid for and is there, but its not being used.  At least that's how it was a few years ago.  KJP may know the latest.

You're right, but that was my point. The fact that it could be optimized but because of basic incompetence it is not utilized and you have people sitting at lights for insane amounts of time and pedestrians getting tired of waiting, so they start jaywalking only to have the light change and almost get hit by cars is ridiculous.

^^ It’s a minor miracle that no one (contractor, or pedestrian) has been run over during this project.

That clean white looks incredible. Crazy how big of a difference makes on its presence in the street.

It’s funny. I see that building and that unique, very distinct smell is suddenly haunting me again, even though it’s been years since I’ve been there.

One of the first times I came to town, I remember the 'unique, very distinct smell' of the entryway from the street. This was probably in 2015, so it was more of a urinal at that point in time haha, look how far it's come!

CAC and JHB both being finished is amazing. The area was so blighted before. It's hard to imagine that Euclid Ave was ever in such rough shape. Such beautiful buildings. But I can't wait for it be finished, the sidewalk to open, and the trolley stop to return, haha.

It is pretty amazing to think how far we’ve come... just a couple years ago these two projects being done was absolutely huge news on here. Now we have so much to monitor, including new construction, that we forget what a big deal this is!  I won’t miss the cold, musty smell surrounding these buildings.

Something I noticed this morning. First floor retail wise. There looks like only one entrance on the east corner of the building. There isn’t another first floor entry til down by the residents main entry on the west corner. That would be one huge singular retail space.

It looks like it was marketed as one 8k+ sq ft space.  At least at one point.

^Some of it, anyway. That new drop off area stinks.

Given their complete blocking of the sidewalk throughout the years-long construction, it's pretty clear that the developers of this project place a lower priority on pedestrians.

Euclid will finally be a bit quieter now that healthline drivers won't honk at every person that stops at the green arrow.

I have a friend that was supposed to move in in January - he moved in last week - in a temporary apartment, until his unit is completed. Yikes.
