As long as the House, Senate and other members and employees of the Federal Government get their taxpayer funded health insurance, I'll continue to ask for mine.

This must be from about 1970 if the doctor is only $100 and aspirin $2!

I hate to say it, but this is probably a good thing for many of the people in rural America who have little access to health care (yet they vote for Trump).

Trump has been gutting foreign visas, which were a large supply of rural doctors who would agree to take up practice in an underserved area in return for the visa.

Meanwhile, we wait for the Trump and GOP health care "plan."

Still waiting on a GOP alternative to the ACA.  In the meantime, they are back in court trying to strike it down.

Supreme Court to Hear Obamacare Appeal

The Affordable Care Act, which has survived two major challenges in the Supreme Court, faces another test.

So it has a plurality to a modest majority support amongst Democrats.  But how's if faring amongst independents?  You have to build an electoral coalition to make it happen- one that's going to require Blue Dog Democrats and maybe even some moderate Republicans.  Just getting Bernie into office doesn't accomplish much.

I’m interested to see if the COVID-19 outbreak will change public policy opinion.

The Trump administration has proposed using emergency funds to cover uninsured people going to the hospital to be treated. Strange they seem to admit it’s bad for the country to have sick people running around because they can’t afford to see a doctor. Socialism 😱

Similar we’re seeing Public health arguments for guaranteed paid leave.

A guy I used to play in a band with is working for a biomedical company that is trying to develop a simple at-home coronavirus test:

His group recently developed an ultrasound device that plugs into iphones:

As we see more and more people losing their jobs, many due to government intervention, let us kill the notion that "your healthcare should be tied to your employment" was ever a good idea.

Health care coverage should be a right for everyone, regardless of employment status.

I don't think this is reaching far enough into white collar America yet to invoke any change.   Once millions of middle manager suburbanites are pushed off their health insurance and forced to buy COBRA coverage, you'll start to hear complaints.

To clarify, loss of insurance *due* to job loss is a qualifying event.

There have been many lies by Trump since the Coronavirus emergency started, but this must be the biggest.   If the courts were actually open, he would resume fighting to strike down the ACA and replace it with: _______________________________________.

That graph should be in logarithmic scale on the horizontal axis, which would show that year over year % increases have actually been going down since the ACA was enacted.

It also leaves out the millions more of people that were able to get insurance for the first time ever.

Would Trump still kill the ACA right before the election and during a pandemic?  Apparently so--heading to the Supreme Court in September.

Trump ignores Barr, asks Supreme Court to destroy the entire ACA

With an ACA case pending at the Supreme Court, Barr wanted Trump to choose a more responsible course. Trump decided not to care.
