  1. Yes many suburban departments are this way. Just look at what's on the chief's resume and it will tell you a lot. Independence OH is notoriously all marines, and their haircuts reflect it. In towns like Cleveland, it's more union graft than military service. But many of the guys who go in are military wannabes and volunteer for SWAT duty etc so they can dress up like Navy SEALS.
  2. Strange times indeed when a white man can't carry an ax to a protest with other armed white men. For shame!
  3. There's nothing better than a Fox News host getting owned.
  4. It's made even harder when good people don't bother applying because they never served in the Marines and they know that a department only hires ex-Marines.
  5. There are some departments that only hire ex-military.
  6. Trump is ratcheting up the Obamagate distractions to take the heat off himself and the economy.
  7. I don't buy it. Once things are back to "normal," most CEOs and CFOs will take a look at the costs and go right back to ordering from Mexico, China, etc.
  8. Soon to be followed by the ornamental cigarette butts and fast food wrappers.
  9. The right wing media machine is working over time to deflect Trump's handling of COVID. Meanwhile...
  10. I was on the river yesterday. There are still rail cars at the mill, and a worker was climbing down in one doing something.
  11. Also agree. Police unions protect the worthless, when good honest people would love to take those jobs. They are filled with cronies rather than qualified applicants.
  12. I was down there dropping a friend off at his boat storage yesterday and was amazed at the foot traffic in the flats. Lots of joggers and people walking together!
  13. Republicans for the Rule of Law (RRL)? I didn't think that was a thing anymore! https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-ad-fox-news-republicans-for-the-rule-of-law-rrl-a9510316.html?jwsource=cl
  14. He is arguing on Trump's behalf at SCOTUS today, but how has he not been disbarred?

For anyone interested, here is the Cspan link to audio of the proceedings: https://www.c-span.org/networks/?channel=radio
  16. Sorry thought this one was funny (and accurate for most Trumpster gun nuts I know).
  17. It depends on the layout of course, but usually this time of the year the January New Years resolution people are long gone and some of the cardio types have taken to the streets and trails. So if this gym is decent sized and they limit access shouldn't be too difficult.
  18. "Litigants typically aren’t hesitant to release information or documents that reflect well on themselves, so the natural question arising from Trump’s stonewalling in the matters the Supreme Court will hear is, “What’s he hiding?”"
  19. No wonder Mitch is worried about bailing out blue states....he's gonna need one of his own!
  20. Would Trump still kill the ACA right before the election and during a pandemic? Apparently so--heading to the Supreme Court in September. Trump ignores Barr, asks Supreme Court to destroy the entire ACA With an ACA case pending at the Supreme Court, Barr wanted Trump to choose a more responsible course. Trump decided not to care. https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/trump-ignores-barr-asks-supreme-court-destroy-entire-aca-n1201881?cid=sm_fb_maddow&fbclid=IwAR2ispzlRgaFpjWo2vkEW-ec_mbKGroetnokodyMOXRIOYMCTySguUwSTQI
  21. I would imagine that the big box retailers Target, Wal Mart and grocery chains are the vast majority of retail jobs nationally, and they are all open.
  22. Yep it's imbedded in post now. Before it was just an attachment. Impressive denisty! Thanks!
