  1. A lot of these people should live on a prairie the way they complain about any building over 2 stories. So f$&ked up.
  2. Not much new information for anyone on UO. The Watterson-Lake proposed building is apparently getting a lot of pushback from the single story commercial step down to Detroit. Thank God. The new code would eliminate any chance of high rises on the bluff overlooking Edgewater. Most of that area would be capped at 39 feet. The 2 current proposed structures are good to go if they can finance them.
  3. Driving piles for the foundation of the Cavs training facility will be the next step.
  4. The new dome stadium is going to be built in Ashtabula, in the shape of a covered bridge.
  5. Much lesser designs of similar size are pushing $1 million in Detroit-Shoreway. These are sure to be in that neighborhood. Bring on the 50 year mortgage.
  6. Let’s dust off the WHD Doubletree plans. Plop this down on the corner of West 6th & St. Clair. Fill in with 5-6 floor structures between it and HQ2.
  7. These are awesome. Owen is about to get a call from SHW legal counsel.
  8. It’s just speculation at this point for that site. Nothing concrete that I’m aware of.
  9. That awesome storefront alone was a magnet to the place. And yeah, parking availability has never been an issue on that stretch. People can be quite dramatic about parking.
  10. They want to start on the south building by July. The north building would start after the south building is completed.
  11. Maybe once the Wolstein Center is removed, those lots won’t be necessary, or profitable for whoever owns them.
  12. The Crowne Plaza at Euclid and Huron is a good example of how a hotel could look sitting on an odd, triangular site like that.
  13. A spire protruding from that front corner would’ve been really cool.
  14. The scale of this development plays so much larger in real life.
  15. This building was VE’d into existence, so I suppose I’m grateful for that. I believe one of Ken’s articles stated that being the case.
  16. Irishtown Bend Park will be more than enough for the neighborhood. We need people living wherever we can put them. This will help seamlessly tie in OHC via Duck Island to all the new development on Scranton. Great gap fill.
  17. This location is one of my favorites in the city. The skyline reflects almost perfectly off the river from here. Pre SHW:
