Of course it's racist, just as much as conservatives constantly questioning Obama's birthplace was racist, just as much as kids chanting "build the wall" is racist, as much as Trump mocking some black athletes' intelligence is racist, as much as Roseanne's comparing Valerie Jarrett to an ape was racist, and so on and so on. And this is coming from someone who thinks that racial politics is often bollocks and nonsense. But not here. The dumb MAGA hat is obviously racism poorly cloaked as political support for conservative ideology, or at the least anti-liberalism. Just as much as a swastika doesn't have much to do with symbolizing good luck any more, despite some feigned protestations by its supporters. God it never ends with conservatives. Every goddamn social issue the right supports is always wrong. Every goddamn one, especially social ones. Slavery. Segregation. Jewish rights. Women's rights. Civil rights. Property rights. Gay rights. Conservatives are ALWAYS on the wrong side of history. These conservatives' kunts, Sandy Hook deniers, Holocaust revisionists, Muslim extremists - it's that same anti-intelligence, anti-reasonability, anti-positivity, proud hate-filled ignorance that's the reason social and economic progress is so f'ing slow. They can all burn for all I care; these groups are all the same.

Derek Bauman is a clown. Let's quit with the crap about MAGA being racist. Tacky, Absolutely. Does it provoke opponents, Yes, because the political left lets it get to them. But it is being intellectually dishonest to call it racist. That is just used to stifle debate. Derek Baumann who is far from an intellectual authority on anything only can stifle debate because he cant really debate on the merits.

The media may have jumped the gun on this. I hope you feel the same way the next time the media demonizes a young minority (Philando Castille/ Trayvon Martin) after an incident.

I think it will make a rather dramatic entrance (no pun intended) to Playhouse Square and downtown in general coming from the east.

Hillary has no compunctions about gratuitously insulting people whose support she is going to need. "Deplorables" being another example. It's a big part of why she lost, and why it's a good thing she lost.

It's because cars have such wide tires these days. Anytime you get snow tires they recommend you buy a much narrower size and even smaller diameter wheels. 20s on a 9 inch wide wheel are not going to be good in the snow.

Extended-stay hotel to open Monday in historic Metropolitan Building Element Detroit is slated to open its doors on Monday, offering visitors an extended-stay hotel downtown. The eco-focused hotel is inside the historic Metropolitan Building at 33 John R. Its opening comes one month after officials gathered to celebrate the restoration of the Neo-Gothic building that had sat vacant for nearly 40 years. It's almost like people have already forgotten that this happened: "I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck," the president said. "So I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I'm not gonna blame you for it. The last time you shut it down it didn't work. I will take the mantle of shutting down. And I'm gonna shut it down for border security."

Downtown has been moving east for 200 years. Playhouse Square owned this parking lot for many years. They didn't have to buy anything And the goal of this building is to put more bodies onto Euclid Avenue sidewalks, shops, restaurants and cafes so they are sustainable year-round, not just when the theaters are hosting shows. Moving on......

Okay, I don't know how to post tweets, but just read one from a student at this school that shows the man with the drum and his group approaching the students while they were doing their fight song. Not that anything these kids did was acceptable, but they're kids at an all-boys school on a class trip hundreds of miles from home. They're expected to act like immature jerks! https://twitter.com/ericcurk Eric Curk‏ @ericcurk 31m31 minutes ago More I screen recorded this from another tweet to get this video out. While we were doing our school fight song this man approached us. I’m putting this out to deny the claims that anyone from Covington Catholic “mobbed” a peaceful protester

I’m glad for the Art Academy. Considering they have such a large building right on 12th, their “presence” is surprisingly missable. I love that they’re in OTR and this project should make it more visible, which is good.

Both of my grandmas, my mom, and several other women in my family voted for Trump. Hell, my mom went to the inauguration and even paid to go to some luncheon that Elaine Chao spoke at. Hillary making fun of housewives back in 1994 or whenever that was made her the lifelong enemy of many women. They totally and completely hate being told how to think and live their lives by Hillary and her people. Stop and think about this. Everyone out there talking about how offensive Trump was and is toward women (and he is) doesn't get that Hillary's remarks were MORE OFFENSIVE to a lot of women.

I'm usually a guy that says built it as tall as you can.... But I think buildings at that height do more honor to the architectural heritage of the neighborhood and than a 15-20 story building would - just my opinion. Also, I love the renderings, wow.

Per MJ's article, demolition of the current plaza "could start in late summer or early fall." Can't wait! They're talking of a Grand Opening in early 2021--just two years time.
