  1. Ditteaux. It's a great design that's at least somewhat timeless, infinitely better than Jenga Tower (aka Nucleus). But even without the latter does enough demand exist for a 1,200' tower?
  2. Best slot receiver I ever saw at UC. That is pretty cool. Pretty young to be Head Coach, congrats to him. Right now they are 12-0, heading into the regional finals against Archbishop Hoban, the defending state champs. They've won both playoff games by 30, and ten of their twelve wins have been by more than three touchdowns. When he won a state title at Maple, his head coach was under 30 as well.

    Cleveland Browns Discussion

When you're 18 up with 6 minutes to play and aren't even close to relaxed.....that's being a Browns fan.

    Voting

The point of the Senate is to represent the states, it's not meant to be democratic. But keep in mind that nearly seven million people voted in California and the race was between two Democrats.

The second part of that statement in no way, shape, or form excuses the first. The idea that it does is one of the biggest problems with modern politics.

    The Democratic Party

The suburbs are the heart of the GOP much more than the rural areas, at least in Ohio. While the inner rings tend to be more Democratic and the outer Republican, that's not always the case. As long as you are effectively required to concentrate an ethnic group that almost always votes for one party, the other districts will have higher percentages of the other part than the state as a whole. That's why Rhodes and the black Democrats first cooked up this deal.

Do you think he's actually "far right", as opposed to playing it when it suits him?

To illustrate this, I’m going to have to be a bit blunt about racial tendencies and the impact of same. I don’t expect this to “trigger” you or most others here. But for those it may, consider this a warning. I’m also assuming, for illustrative purposes, 100% registration and turnout. Rounding off, Ohio has 11,500,000 people and 16 Congressional districts. So, ideally, you have 718,750 people in a district. To build a majority-black district as the Voting Rights Act all but requires, you need 359,375 black residents in a contiguous area. Let’s assume the black vote is 90% Democratic, based on history. We could assume that the non-black vote was 50-50, but let’s be realistic, in a contiguous area it’s more likely to be at least 55-45 Democratic. That’s 521,093 Democrats out of 718,750. 72.5%. The 11th District is typically well into the 80s so if anything this estimate is conservative. In the mathematical sense. ? Now let’s say you are 50-50 statewide. 5,750,000 voters each way. Subtracting the totals for the district we are studying leaves the rest of the state at 51.5% Republican. Another district like this and we’re at about 53% for the other 14 districts. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, but it’s math. The Voting Rights Act effectively requires the creation of prohibitively Democratic districts, so that the rest of the state is likely to be disproportionately Republican. One more thing: if the state was 55% one party, but there were no concentrations of voters at all for either party, the entire legislature could easily belong to the majority party.

    My point.

    The Trump Presidency

It would be the best thing for America and the worst thing for Trump. The GOP needs effective opposition badly. Matthew Whittaker? Even Christie would be a massive improvement.

    The Trump Presidency

She's almost as prone to what I hope are mislocutions when flustered as Sheila Jackson Lee is when speaking. Plus she has an image of being way left on "progressive" social issues, and that plays very poorly among the voters away from the coasts. Wasn't one Dem openly running against her in the general election? Trump is all about style, the only substance is what one finds in a barnyard. But he's good at that and he's tremendous at getting others so inclined to sink to his level.

    The Trump Presidency

Exactly. His strategy of goad - point out - mock is tailor made for Pelosi. No wonder he tweeted that she deserves the speakership. If the Dems were smart they would go with someone like Tim Ryan, focus on bread and butter issues, and keep the investigation low key unless and until they find something new. But that's a big "if".

    Is rural Ohio dying?

It started after World War II, when rural people came to the cities to work in the war industries. That's where the suburbs came from. Once the war was over, they wanted what they considered to be the best of both worlds. And they had the numbers, clout, and skills to make it happen.

    SCOTUS

Trump's not a conservative or a constitutionalist. He believes only in Trump. To replace Ginsburg, he'll appoint a moderate, perhaps even a Democrat, after gaining concessions from the Dems for doing so.

To put it very bluntly, Swetnick's claims, in the light of the culture of that era, failed Occam's Razor unless she was attending such parties hoping to be "selected". That was unusual then but not unheard of. Had it been often and non-consensual it would have come to light quite quickly.
