  1. ^ Bobby O's is one of those places that, for whatever reason, seems to have people there 24/7. The Monday morning after St. Patrick's Day this year (which was on a Saturday), I saw a half dozen or so folks stumble out of Bobby O's still wearing their green attire. I can't say I will be disappointed that this joint will be replaced with (presumably) upscale condos, but to each their own I guess.
  2. Personally, I don't think restaurant patrons should get hung up on that sort of thing, but I'm always baffled when businesses choose to air a politically divisive channel/show. Why give your customers any reason to not like you?
  3. Whatever happened to the Steve Barry land? Did that sale close? I haven't seen a public announcement about it.
  4. Any update on the sale of the Steve Barry land? Per the county's website, it doesn't appear that anything has changed hands yet.
  5. I hope this means Wagar Park is next. The tennis courts are a disaster.
  6. ^Great update, KJP. Especially happy to hear the activity on the Steve Barry Buick land.
  7. Saw someone post this (on LinkedIn, of all places) and thought it was interesting. Interactive map showing planned, under construction, and completed projects downtown since 2012 or so. For whatever it's worth... https://jll.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=dd0ff16556ad46ec9f75d08a4349c04e
  8. ^^^ Thanks for the information KJP and others. I didn't realize the owners even had the land on the market, official or not. I, too, saw the office sale last week. I am hopeful this site can be developed at some point. This has now become my own personal "Jacobs' Lot" on Public Square as I live down the street.
  9. Also, does anybody know what is going on with the Steve Barry Buick dealership? From what I understand, they stopped selling cars over a year ago but they are still operating the maintenance shop. If that's the case, and there is no plan to go back into business, why not sell some of this land that is now empty parking lots? I haven't seen it listed, nor are there any signs on their property indicating the space is on the market. I have to think this is prime real estate as far as Lakewood goes.
  10. I haven't seen this posted anywhere. Outdoor beer garden proposed for the corner of Detroit and Edwards in western Lakewood. I like this and I'm especially glad to see development on one of the last truly "vacant" commercial lots in Lakewood (to my knowledge). http://www.cleveland19.com/story/38100344/plans-in-the-works-for-an-outdoor-beer-garden-in-lakewood
  11. This is supposedly going to be a Planet Fitness, right?
  12. Me too, but that was never going to happen. TG is an attraction and it will do fine in Independence. If nothing else, it will survive because of the serious lack of decent driving ranges within 30 minutes of downtown.
  13. I had to double-take when I saw this sign. How completely bizarre for development signage. I understand it's their land and they can do whatever they want (within reason), but wow... "Grab 'em by the %#[/member]&!" - Donald Trump. By the way, coming soon...the One West Twenty development!!! Strange.
  14. I posted the article in this thread earlier today.
  15. I, for one, am very excited about this and always have felt that this concept would work great in Cleveland. I thought at one point I read a rumor on this site that Topgolf was considering FEB Phase 3 for their NEO location, but frankly this makes more sense. Independence site eyed for year-round golf haven Topgolf, a year-round sports venue offering golfers what Corner Alley and Dave & Buster's gives bowlers and gamers, could add a location in Northeast Ohio if a proposed rezoning in Independence wins city approvals. Caroline Jerome, a Topgolf spokeswoman, said that at this time she can only confirm the Dallas-based company's interest in pursuing what she termed a "Cleveland-area location." No details will be available until later, she said. However, the agenda for the 5:30 p.m. meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 3, of the Independence Planning Commission shows a request to rezone almost 16 acres on Rockside Woods Boulevard to public use from office and laboratory use. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20180103/news/147321/independence-site-eyed-year-round-golf-haven?#utm_medium=email&utm_source=ccl-akronmorning&utm_campaign=ccl-akronmorning-20180104
