  1. I don't think this is true. Firstly, the "email" didn't look all that official. Secondly, I know the guys who is in charge of city building maintenance and they were working on the transformation as of August...unless things have REALLY changed.
  2. I was rereading this thread and it seems that there is a consensus that this project will be scaled down. After looking at the Stark website ( http://www.starkenterprises.com/ ) , it doesn't seem to indicate that. Is this speculation or has Stark definitely announced the project would be scaled down?
  3. Fake news? ::) I guess political buzzwords make me slightly nauseous...This project makes me smile every time I see it, unlike the empty lot called nuCLEus, which seems like a WITCH HUNT by the way. They should just BUILD A WALL around that property! I give Stark credit, he's a real MAVERICK though! Okay, now that THAT'S out of my system...
  4. It may be dated, but at least they put some thought into aesthetics when they built the thing - most garages downtown seem are just big ugly gray boxes. At least the garage above the Tilted Kilt is a big ugly tan box and not gray! :)

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion

A quote from a Charlotte business article..."Ron Tober, who started Charlotte Area Transit System in 1999, applauds current CEO John Lewis for taking an aggressive approach for building three additional rail lines in the near future."

City of Cleveland Land Ownership In Other Cities

When I was stationed on the East side with the Fire Department, we used to respond to the city owned treatment plant in Chagrin Highlands because it was city owned (which made for a ridiculous response time). We never ever made it in because I believe there was a dual response, but it was a complete waste of time, money and resources.

    Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion

There have been cases of cocaine being "cut" with fentanyl, which certainly wouldn't give you repeat customers, but it does happen.

    Cincinnati: State of Downtown

Is that building density or population?
  9. ^Well that was a teaser! I'm not a paid subscriber...
  10. I'm sure Central Park plays a huge part.

Metro Cleveland: Road & Highway News

Just a random question...why in the heck was the 480/71 interchange not set up as a cloverleaf? It doesn't seem to make much sense to be set up as the current configuration.
  12. While a skywalk can take away from street life, I don't think it is in the case of the casino. Older people are down there to pull slots and aren't interested in the nightlife while the younger crowd will visit nearby places regardless (I know I do and I'm kind of old at 49). As far as the skywalk for the Q...I'm not shedding any tears.

    NHL: General News & Discussion

Trade alert...The Cavs and the Monsters go to Columbus and they give Cleveland the Blue jackets in return! I so wish. I just don't understand with all the high school hockey in the Northern part of the state how we only have a minor league team.
  14. Wrong thread I am sure , but is the apartment tower across the river that basically had a moat around it still in play? Is that part of "Phase 3"?

    Cleveland zoning code discussion

I wonder how they came up with the heights for each zone? Why 900' and not 1000'? You would think they would go over with the heights so developers would NOT have to ask for a variance.
